§00 Who we are

An independent repair shop that decided to publish its prices.

SpinWell is eleven technicians and three people answering phones. We are not a franchise, not a lead-generation site that sells your number on, and not authorised by any manufacturer — which is exactly why we can tell you when a repair is not worth doing.

§01 The short version

Why the price list is public

Read the price list

Because the alternative is what everyone else does. You call, someone says “the technician will tell you”, the technician arrives, and the price turns out to depend on how worried you look. We got tired of competing against that and losing, so we published the list instead.

It has two effects. Customers stop haggling, because there is nothing to haggle over. And our own technicians stop having to justify a number they did not set. They read from the same sheet you are reading.

We have been doing this since 2014, mostly on repeat customers and neighbours of repeat customers. Around 12,200 machines so far. Roughly one in fourteen we advise not to repair.

By the numbers

  • 12,200+

    Machines repaired since 2014

  • 11

    Technicians, all on payroll

  • 94%

    Fixed on the first visit

  • 90 days

    Warranty on every part

§02 The van

Why we carry the parts instead of ordering them

A second visit costs you a day of waiting and costs us a slot. So every van leaves in the morning carrying the parts that account for the overwhelming majority of faults: door seals in four sizes, drain pumps for the common brands, bearing sets, belts, inlet valves, capacitors, lid switches and the six or seven control boards that fail most.

That is what the 94% figure above actually means. It is not a claim about how clever the technicians are. It is a claim about what is in the van.

§03 The technicians

Who turns up at your door

All eleven are on payroll, not commission. Nobody earns more by selling you a part you do not need, because nobody earns anything from the part.

Trained on the machines they see

Every technician is factory-trained on at least three of the brands in their area, and shadowed for six weeks before working alone.

Based near you

Technicians work the areas they live in. Shorter runs, faster slots, and someone who knows which buildings have hard water.

Photo ID, every visit

You get the technician’s name and photo by WhatsApp before they arrive, and they carry ID. If the person at your door is not that person, call us.
